Daystar Digital

Daystar Digital was an innovative Apple-sublicensee that essentially invented multiprocessing on the Macintosh. Daystar sold multiple-processor Tsunami-based MacOS-Compatibles and licensed multiprocessing technologies worldwide from May 1996 to August 1997. On August 25, 1997, Daystar left the MacOS-Compatible market, but continued to develop multi-processor software technologies. In November of 1998, Daystar licensed the website, repair services, and software technologies of Daystar Systems to GDTS (Gary Dailey Tech. Service).

The Daystar Genesis MP 600, based on the Tsunami architecture, features four 150 MHz PowerPC 604 processors, 16 MB of RAM, and a 1.0 GB hard drive in an expandable tower case. DayStar shipped this model without a graphics card, allowing the reseller to configure the computer with their choice of graphics cards. Daystar Genesis MP 900+
