![]() Apple iMac (Rev. A & B) |
The Apple iMac (Rev. A & B), based on the Columbus architecture, features a 233 MHz PowerPC 750 (G3) processor, 32 MB of RAM, a 4.0 GB hard drive, and ATI Rage IIc (Rage Pro Turbo after October 26, 1998) graphics acceleration in a "bondi blue" and "ice" colored, space-age, all-in-one case with a crystal-clear 15" color screen. The iMac is unique not only for its look, but also for being the first Mac to include USB ports, a new standard from the Wintel world which supports up-to 127 devices, and for lacking a floppy drive, PCI slots, and a SCSI port.

The Apple iMac "350" (Indigo) features a 350 MHz PowerPC 750 (G3) processor, 64 MB of RAM, a 7.0 GB hard drive, a slot-loading CD-ROM drive, ATI Rage 128 Pro (2x AGP) graphics acceleration, and an integrated Harmon Kardon Odyssey sound system in a sleek, translucent "indigo" all-in-one case with a 15" color screen. Like the previous "fruit" iMac series, the iMac "350" (Indigo) is convection-cooled, and lacks an internal metal housing for a more translucent appearance. However, this model ships with a vastly improved keyboard and a pressure-sensitive optical mouse. Please note that the case of the iMac "350" (Indigo) simply says "iMac" and the additional information is provided to distinguish this model from earlier ones.
