Apple Macintosh LC Series

 
   
  Apple's Macintosh LC (Low Cost) series was sold from October 1990 to August 1995 primarily to the educational market. Macs for education were later incorporated into the Power Macintosh series.
 


Apple Macintosh LC III

 
The Apple Macintosh LC III features a 25 MHz 68030 processor, 4 MB of RAM, and either a 40 MB, an 80 MB, or a 160 MB hard drive in a compact "pizza box" case. The consumer version of the LC III is the Performa 450.

Apple Macintosh LC 520
The Apple Macintosh LC 520 features a 25 MHz 68030 processor, 5 MB of RAM, and either an 80 MB or a 160 MB hard drive in a relatively-compact all-in-one case with a 14" color display. The LC 520 was both the first Macintosh LC in an all-in-one case, and to have a CD-ROM drive. The consumer version of the LC 520 is the Performa 520.

Apple Macintosh LC 630
The Apple Macintosh LC 630 (PC) features a 33 MHz 68LC040 processor, 4 MB or 8 MB of RAM, and either a 250 MB or 350 MB hard drive in a compact desktop case. The LC 630 PC-Compatible ships with a 66 MHz Intel 486DX2 processor card which can have a maximum of 32 MB of RAM dedicated to the DOS/Windows operating system. The consumer version of the LC 630 is the Performa 630 series and the business version is the Quadra 630.
